Danny & Ceri

I've known Danny & Ceri for quite a few years so it was an honour when they approached me to capture their special day for them. Our day started with Danny having provided a box of gifts for Ceri to open with quotes relating back to the start of their relationship.

In a classic car I joined Ceri and her father on our way to the venue in which they both shared some brandy. We had a warm welcome making our way into Friern Manor and we joined the groomsmen waiting at the altar.

The staff at Friern Manor looked after everyone throughout the evening including myself with an incredible meal. The icing on the cake was watching Danny and Ceri's first dance on the dance floor.

Kaliff & Charlotte

Charlotte, her family and bridesmaids welcomed me into their home for a really fun bridal prep shoot. With a bacon butty in my hand I was happy shooting away whilst the bridesmaids enjoyed a glass of champagne all with their own names on which was such a nice touch!

We dodged the rain for a beautiful service in St John the Baptist Church in Barnet followed by a superb welcome at Dyrham Park where the wedding breakfast and evening activities took place.

Despite poor weather Kaliff & Charlotte kept smiling all day long and couldnt take their eyes off each other. You were both amazing people to work with. Thank you for a great day!

Jamie & Millie

Jamie & Millie wanted to give their love ones a day to remember and they surely did that. The day began at the amazing Reid Rooms in Roding and the sun was beaming down providing amazing lighting during the bridal/groom prep as well as providing some warmth during a cold November.

Exploring the venue, I couldn't stop myself from pausing to capture images of the small details that had been created by Jamie & Millie. They really worked hard on making sure that they let their family and friends know more about themselves on the day. This included giving their table names to locations that they had visited on holiday, a quiz based on questions about them both and lastly my favourite, a Danish tradition of cutting off the toes of the grooms socks!

Jimmy & Cassandra

Jimmy & Cassandra held their wedding in a church that I have walked past for most of my life. I really enjoyed photographing an amazing couple in my local church.

Our day began with amazing light at Hanbury Manor, Hertford capturing hair, makeup and some touching moments between Cassandra, her mother and bridesmaids.

Despite some early rain, the day was brilliant and the sun managed to shine throughout the day.

Valy & Inese

When I first met Valy & Inese on our engagement shoot I was amazed at how in love they were. I didn't need to guide or pose either of them and knew that when it came to the big day we would see the same thing.

Inese is extremely insightful and put a lot of her creativity into the day adding little touches here and there.  Throughout the day Inese was asking "Can we take this shot... oh and this one too" which I absolutely loved as I wanted to create images that they would remember.

The guests witnessed an amazing orthodox blessing at Bishop Stortford Church followed by the best hospitality I have ever had as a photographer at the Hunters Meet in Hatfield Heath.

Engagement Shoot - V&I

Vally and Inese are an amazing couple who I cannot wait to join on their wedding day. We headed out to Hatfield Forest which is an outstanding place of beauty under the National Trust. Hatfield Forest is a brilliant place for photographers, families, dog walkers and anyone who enjoys nature. We took a walk around the lake and through the forest, Inese even helped me out spotting a beautiful area which she and Vally loved.

Do your bit and volunteer!

Every year I try to do my bit and give a day to a charity. Last year I visited Haven House Hospital Charity Shop in Chingford, London. It was great fun helping out and seeing what goes on behind the scenes.

This year I was approached by Sophie from Leukaemia Care. Every few months for their free magazine they publish Inspirational Stories to where experiences are shared. Sophie introduced me to Margaret, a lovely lady from my home town of Hoddesdon so that we could capture a few images for their magazine. Im not going to spoil anything but I can't wait to hear Margarets story and see which images Sophie has decided to publish.

Margaret hated having her photo taken, something I hear a lot from friends and clients. I put Margaret at ease and we had a good chat about growing up in Hoddesdon whilst taking a few snaps in-between. Check out the Leukaemia Care website and donate if you can. You can read other inspirational stories here.

Half Year Update

What a year its been! Whilst I haven't been adding a monthly blog post, I have been active in Hertfordshire as a photographer travelling, meeting people, collaborating, planning and most importantly taking loads of photos. As with my blog this is my place to display my love, my photos that drive me forward and keep my creative flair running.

Portrait photography is so important, its something that can display a characters emotions, light can convey meaning and lastly it shows who we are. This summer I have taken some of my favourite portraits, from commercial jobs to snapping away with friends in the sun. One thing we are obsessed with is selfies. Turn the camera around, snap your friends smiling, catch them in good light, frame them correctly and most importantly, share your images! Soundscape performing below are worth checking out if your in need of a Hertfordshire based band.

Heres some of mine:

Mark and Lauren

Last week I had the honour of delivering Mark and Lauren their wedding day images. During their wedding day Lauren expressed to us that Mark and herself want to be the first people to see the images. This meant that Alice ( My second shooter) and myself had to retain from showing anyone images from behind the camera.

The couple returned from their honeymoon last weekend and my gift to them was a guarantee of their images finished for their return.

What I really enjoyed about their wedding was how important their son George is to them, and how important having a close knit family is. We absolutely loved the small ceremony and everyone couldn't take their smiles off their faces!

May & June Update

The past two months have flown by as I have been the busiest I have ever been!

Late April I took on a shoot for a company called Dogatella who create beautiful dog leads, collars and bracelets. Now I am used to photographing weddings but this shoot was so fun working alongside several dogs as well as models.

Serine & Viktor

May has seen myself take on a project close to what I was doing on my degree. I rarely film anymore but a client I have completed films for before has returned to create a short movie at a large London based media agency. Unfortunately I cannot share any more than this but the project has been extremely fun and movie editing is something else compared to photo editing!

Two weeks ago I shot a wedding for a lovely couple Mark and Lauren. They both met at their place of work about 9 years a go and have been deep in love since. Their son George was really cute throughout the day and their focus was on catching plenty of images involving him. I am currently in the middle of finishing their photos but here is one of my favourite images exported as a tester.

Lauren & Mark

June is a month of editing and admin for me. I'll be looking into updating this website and arranging to attend a few wedding fairs throughout the year.

April Update

With a logo, new business cards, leaflets and many other things, I am crazy busy right now! Establishing myself on Facebook and Instagram is keeping me busy. I am still finding time to shoot and last weekend I met with Kev and Jess a couple from Hoddesdon to go on a walk around the local areas and appreciate the rare bit of sun that we had.
